Sound Travellers 2010 Grants

Applications for the third round of Sound Travellers have been announced.  Closing date 21st September 2009 for touring in 2010.

Sound Travellers provides grants to Australian artists for National touring in the following genres of new music for travel and marketing costs.

The program also aims to develop viable touring opportunities for musicians/sound artists performing sound art/electronica, new jazz/improvisation and contemporary classical music through promoting audience access, developing networks and taking on board good ideas that we can facilitate with our resources. Liquid Architecture, Australia’s premier sound arts festival, celebrates its 10-year anniversary. The festival showcases the best of contemporary sound arts and experimental music in our major cities. With a decade of experience to draw upon the diverse program features the highest quality sound work in an intensely focused listening environment.

“Liquid Architecture 10 will be a landmark occasion for the festival and for sound culture in Australia,” says national festival director Nat Bates. “It will draw together all of the things that the festival has done well in the past and take them as far as they can go.”

SOUND TRAVELLERS 2009 UPDATE

Following on from Karratha to Canberra - Darwin to Hobart, Sound Travellers is on the road again again with round two artists travelling the length and breadth of the country. Once again Australian audiences will be treated to some of the most exciting contemporary sounds this country has to offer.  Tours play in every State and Territory.
Artists: Pivot, Topology, Ross Bolleter, Keijzer McGuiness Quintet, Trio Apoplectic, Tom Vincent Quartet, Mark Isaacs Resurgence Band, West End Composers Collective , Panoptique Electrical, Triad, Camilla Hanna, Thembi Soddell & Eamon Sprod, Joel Stern, Shoeb Ahmad and Adrian Klumpes, Austin Benjamin Trio, Way out West and Ensemble Offspring
