Critical Animals : Call for proposals

Critical Animals, the creative research symposium held during This Is Not Art, is now calling for proposals for papers, panels, presentations, performances and exhibits.

The symposium brings together students, researchers, writers and artists who are critically engaged in creative and experimental art practices. All artists, writers, thinkers and part-time philosophers are encouraged to apply. The symposium will take place over three days, from Thursday 1 to Saturday 3 October, in Newcastle, NSW.

Critical Animals is calling for proposals in the following areas:
*  Papers, panels, and presentations
*  Performances, exhibits, events

In your proposal please outline your work and the way in which you would like to present it (up to 500 words).

Sydney smARTarts Festival opportunities

Are you an aspiring artist? We need you to be part of the City of Sydney’s annual youth arts & cultural event, smARTarts Festival!

smARTarts is a youth arts & cultural festival showcasing creative talent and initiatives of young people aged 15 - 26 yrs. smARTarts is held on Saturday 4th April 2009, as part of National Youth Week (28 March - 5 April 2009) to showcase creative talents in the areas of visual arts, performance arts and music.

The 2009 festival will feature an ART EXHIBTION, open for young people aged 15 - 26 yrs, as part of Youth Week celebrations. Applications are also open to be part of the live performances, art installations, market stalls & workshops that will be happening over the day at Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, Chippendale. Get involved!
